I'm just glad my garage isn't the only one to look like that (leaves included) after not being in there all winter.

Yeah, each spring is quite the cleanup. I need to replace the rack on the mustang this coming weekend so I will need to clear that crap out of there.

here in Buffalo there is quite a bit of salt on the roads yet, I will wait a few more weeks before I get them out.

do you use a tender?
Ron914
Hello Emory,
I like seeing all those bicycles hanging up in your garage. It would make me a little nervous having them all hanging above my car . Thanks for all your past support .Here's one of my other rides.

I hear they all leak oil especially if you don't drive them. Even the new ones.

No tender, optima battery. Didn't even remember to disconnect it. Oops. Battery is a 2001. The car leaked very very little this year. That makes me happy. There is still salt here too. I don't think I will be taking it out yet but we will see. I might not be able to resist. I needed to get the boys bikes out.

Nice bike Ron. Mine is the 1985 trek Elance. Pulled the frame out of a dumpster in DC 25 years ago. Been riding it ever since. Here it is last summer on a bike ride with my boys.

Great to see you sharing your love of cycling with your boys . Nice dumpster find . Mine is a Trek emonda all carbon . I would like to pick up an old classic steel bike someday . Looks like a beautiful place for a ride .

Mine is spotless. OCD I suppose, but the car loves it.

Nice Guys! I just installed vintage tires for my 1993 Specialized Rock Hopper - that I purchased new back in the day. This bike was rode hard for many years but it is still rock-solid. Literally, no shocks!! blink.gif

They go well together.

I'm in Michigan. Don't be deceived by an early warm spell. Snow could easily come next week! It takes some rain to clean off the streets from salt. Salt attacks lots of parts in an air cooled engine.

I don't wake mine up until near the end of April (sad to say)
emerygt350
That is quite the bike mount!
Carbon fiber would be wasted on me so I don't mind the steel.

I have probably called a blizzard by even backing it out of the garage.

Well in Wisconsin the deep sleep continues. Three weeks ago it was -10 tomorrow it will be 60. My garage used to be so neat, now I have junk all over. Best, MarkClick to view attachment

Disagree Mark, looks fine to me, especially for a teener

Do you guye salt the roads up North?
emerygt350
Here she is humming away today. I always love having it start the season ready to go. Doesn't happen often with my toys.

the vehicle scientists at surrounding bases have some real tasteful gear.

ford hard top "john goss special".
as a ford man thought this might warm your post winter heart.
got my heart beat up and racing for sure.
been ages since i stumbled into one of these.

there are some real +'s to the new location.
no idiotic inner city speed limits. 60kmh out here. not 30.
no speed bump traffic calmers.
plenty of sweeper corners.
and the groceries at the supermarket are 25% cheaper - (as well as the beer).
and the gasoline is not hyper priced. biggrin.gif beerchug.gif

What a great setup. That falcon looks like a cross between a maverick and a Torino. Very cool.

I like that thunderbird too, is it a supercoupe?
VaccaRabite
My 914 woke up this week too. I need to do an oil change and check valves, but she is up and running. Took her for a drive around the test track and let it idle in the garage for a while before shutting down again.

I want this year to be about getting the bus and rabbit on the road, and less about the 914. We shall see. 914 has to be running, one cool car always needs to be running.

i think its an 85. an elan. heritage elan?
its got a strangled small v8.
belongs to my mate.
he got it cheap 20 years back.
story was someone had been shopping for cars in the states and had room for one more in the containers. so they put the car in they had used to drive around in the USA while they had done their car shopping into the container as well. the chunderbird as it is now nicknamed.

its nothing special. what you call a cruiser. but still lhd. so fun to get out on the streets every now and then and wallow around corners with - while deriving pleasure from observing the digital dash. the dash is really cool in an 80s idea of the space age way. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

as to the falcon hardtop = torino. yes. also the USA 19701/2 ford falcon is part of the mix.
--------

@mlindner

yes - its a bit of a cathedral of space. used to be a steel fabricators shop - they built big stuff in there. has a crane on a rail overhead which we are trying to see if we can recommission and get going. but first we have a structural engineer mate of mine checking out the state of the structure. all a clear span truss roof, very elegant design.

we are on the lookout for some more four poster hoists so we can double stack cars for storing. you can generally pick up second hand four posters pretty cheap.

Long time Mustang enthusiast here, know all about cowl rust.
Nice hobby digs, always more enjoyable with a like-minded group. Here in the South U.S. we have maybe one snow, no salt but plenty of rain, leaves, dirt that left unattended will ruin an old car in short order. In my area it's possible to have at least a dry day or two of driving 12 months out of the year. My hobby cars stay dry and in a dark garage when not driven.

Even though the mustang lives in the garage and never sees salt or winter, every year I still find places that want attention. The trunk lid has been the most recent culprit. Just little surface rust but if not dealt with.... On the Porsche, this will be the year of the frunk. It's starting to threaten badness around that drain hole under the spare. Sand blaster time again.
