I think Iann Karr did a video on the repair. My experience is that the rotating pin sizes. is was going to try filling them with rust penetrant and putting them in a zip lock bag in the ultra sonic. I have a few non working ones

On the two that I tried to repair, they both had the center rotating valve stiuck from burnt oil deposits. One also had the heating element broken and I couldn't coax it to work. The one with the good heating element came back to life. To repair them, the most difficult part is cutting slots in the crimped on part and unfolding the crimp so you can separate the heating body and valve sections, while leaving enough metal to crimp it back together again.

In 50 years of repairing air cooled Porsche I have replaced many of them with new. I have kept many parts in anticipation they would be NLA (no longer available) Usually easier to repair a part than build one from scratch. Brad
