I bet this guy’s stomach is still churning. The local Porsche Dealership had a Cars and Coffee LeMans watch party event yesterday. They always have me park my car right outside the front door along with a 356 that has been in the same family since new. (The family has aged, the 356, not so much). This guy was parked near my car and I didn’t get the chance to chat with him. I watched him pull in, and out.
Apparently, he got home and pulled in to the garage, got out and noticed engine compartment flames. Pushed it out of the garage to save the structure. The end result is in the pictures. For you locals, it’s in the Arrowcreek neighborhood near Damonte Ranch. Attached image(s)

awful, such a bummer to see and a lesson to us all. Hopefully it can be saved. Looks like a '72 with the right fender oil door so fairly rare.

We are currently overhauling three 930 engines. It cost around $2500 to replace all the fuel lines and the frequency valve. It’s all 35-40 years old so no choice but to do it.

IIRC the license plate was RUUUF. And there was a small Ruf sticker on it.

Yes, Rob, know the area. Well, guess one good thing happened in that he saved the house. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
How awful. Maybe a good reminder to have accessible fire extinguishers? Have two in the kitchen, three in the garage and one in every car (halon ones). |
