I’m parting out a rusty Porsche 914 and wanted to offer parts here before I start cutting up the frame and disposing of what is left. 1971, 1.7L

The car is too far gone structurally for me to restore, so I’m using it as a donor/parts car to help raise money to restore my dad’s better 914. I would much rather see usable parts go to other 914 owners than have them scrapped when I don't expect to use them myself.

Important: I plan to keep the car available for parts for about 30 days. After that, if nobody wants remaining parts or larger sections, I plan to cut up and dispose of the frame/shell.

Fuel injection parts are not included / not available.

I will attach pictures of the car and available parts. I can also take specific photos of any area or part you are interested in.

I am trying to price everything fairly for the 914 community. I haven't done a ton of research on each specific part so let me know if I am totally off and I can correct fair pricing.

Location: Lynchburg Virginia, USA
Shipping: Yes
Local pickup: Yes
Payment: Paypal or Cash preferred

Please reply here or send me a PM with what you need. I’ll check the car, send pictures, describe the condition honestly, and give a price.

Front hood: $300
Rear trunk lid: $150 - Poor condition.
Engine lid/grille: $200
Targa top: $300
Doors: $350 each complete, $200 each bare - Interior lining in poor condition. Pockets/latches/glass seem OK
Front/rear bumpers: $100 - Poor condition. I think they are bondo'd
Headlight assemblies: $75 each - Poor condition
Front turn signal assemblies: $100 each
Tail light assemblies: $200 each
Rear Glass: $150

Gauges: $75 each
Center console: $400 complete
Seats: $75 each - foam intact, leather is a lost cause.

Engine core: $1,000? Complete and turns, 9,5860 miles
Engine tin: $100 - poor condition
Transmission core: $400, tail-shift
Axles/CVs/shift linkage: $75–$300 depending on part
Suspension and steering parts: $75–$400 depending assembly
Brake parts: $25–$350 depending part/condition - Haven't looked at them too carfully
Wheels: Haven't researched value
Fuel tank: $150 - Was left full for some reason. Doesn't look too bad.

If you need a specific section cut from the shell, please ask before the 30 days are up. Also, let me know if there are any noteworthy parts you are interested in and I can add them to pricing sheet. Parts are available unless I strike them out.

Thanks,
Nathaniel.

GLWTS. You might want to state the model year and engine size to let folks know the baseline details of the parts car. Not all 914 parts are interchangeable across the model years, to avoid getting the same questions from buyers.

You might also want to research/refine your pricing a bit to more quickly get to sales. For example a new fuel tank costs the same as what you are asking for your used one 'full of fuel'. Its time absorbing, but you will be $ ahead to remove, clean up and present each part FS with clear photos and simple, factual descriptions.

Fair points. 1971 1.7L - Added to original post.
I will slowly work on pricing and add pictures. Didn't consider that there was an option for an aftermarket fuel tank for example. All prices are open to best offer while I figure out actual values.
