First gen Boxter rear trunk latch is physically the same latching mechanism as a 914 engine lid latch, but with an additional electronic release.

Dont have reason to at the moment, but noticing it on the boxter it came to me that it would be a lot easier option for a GT lid release than cutting and reworking the cable tube to allow the cable to exit the top of the engine grill... something I already went through the hassle of on my car. |
