Does the wire from the oil temp at the taco plate go directly to the gauge in the center console? Or is there a connection i am missing in harness somewhere past the snorkel?
1974 2.0 with center console gauges.

My wire connected to the console gauge at a single spade connector near the battery down where the fuel lines come into the engine compartment.

The wire from the sender goes across the front of the motor (behind the fan shroud) to a connector over in the neighborhood of the battery. From there, it goes into the snorkel and into the center tunnel, to another connector below the center console. From there, another wire takes it to the gauge--whether that gauge is in the console, or up in the combo gauge on the dashboard. (That last is pretty uncommon.)
