With 2026 being the 100 year anniversary of Route 66, there are a multitude of events, car shows, rallies and other festivities being planned. Instead of trying to schedule our 914 Classic to avoid conflict with other activities, I decided it would be better to crash somebody else's party.

Wow!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) some of that road is really bad. I wonder if they will try to repair stretches of the really bad sections before then.

I'm waiting for the AZ schedule to see what the highlights are...it may be stuff we've seen before but with such a large and diverse group, it should be interesting.

So, any interest from Laughlin to a stop in Holbrook? Don't think I want to go to Gallup.

Not the usual 914 shenanigans, but could be fun. Most likely for me is the segment in NM.

I can see taking it from Santa Monica pier to Rancho Cucamonga and having lunch out there! Do some bench racing and head home from there!

I'm seriously considering the entire route! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) I've followed this thread since day one and I'd been thinking about which stretch of this RT66 venture I could do. Today I thought about that venture to RRC 2010 and what prompted an 60 yo man to drive a then 34 yo car, which I had just "resurrected", 3K+ miles. I remember telling myself that this was insane. And just as suddenly another voice emerged saying "How many more chances do you have to partake and enjoy one of these events. So here I am 15 years later except now I'm driving a 53 yo Frankenstein and thinking to myself that this is an historic event which I want to be a part of. As soon as I can secure my dog sitter I'll toss in with the rest of you thugs. Wondering if any campgrounds abound along the route. Would consider the western AZ route. Not a bad drive from the PHX area if you stay off I-10...
But it would be in a water pumper and not one of the '14's...

Last year we took a Rt66 trip.
Drove from Pittsburgh to Chicago to start, then went on to Amarillo TX. 3230 miles

This year we are planning on skipping the Chicago part and going straight to St Louis, from PGH then heading the rest of the way to Santa Monica pier.

No 914 though, we took the Cayman for that trip and will use it again for the trip this year.

Wow. Rt 66 is only a few miles away from where I live. But the Rt 66 of the teener world takes me more than a thousand miles one way. Would really love to see the folks however east they might travel. Always wanted to see Oklahoma. Most of what I know about that region is based on popular songs.
