Hi ---this is my first post on the forumn. Can someone please confirm that the location of my door hinge pins is correct as there is a small gap between the pin head and the hinge. Thank you.

That seems to be normal. As long as they hold the door in place, you’re good.

Gap is factory so you can fit the pulling tool for removal.

Hi ---this is my first post on the forumn. Can someone please confirm that the location of my door hinge pins is correct as there is a small gap between the pin head and the hinge. Thank you. I've wondered why these pins are installed upside down in defiance of gravity? Since there is no other retainer other than friction fit seems they would eventually just fall out, not usual German engineering. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I've never attempted to remove one, are they hammered into place? |

What you can’t see are the serrations on the shaft that lock them in position. They are difficult to remove even with the factory tool.
