Causing this to happen (I’d just pulled the windshield because of the stupid trim clips at the center top (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) )

This is the 2nd post I have seen regarding window trim popping off at speed. What is causing this? I have had my car at 130 for a good bit and no issues so far. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

If this turns out to be the trim clips, I'd be laying down the $$$s for the Porsche OEM clips.

I also would guess that the trim clips were not replaced (no windshield shop would stock these). Or it wasn’t clipped all the way if it was replaced

Believe the factory calls these clips one time use
Most windshield shops use glue instead of and just are not familiar with using clips

When I originally installed the windshield - apparently two clips at the top center broke for whatever reason (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (aftermarket from a supplier we all use ).. I pulled the windshield about a month ago to replace the broken clips. I ended up replacing them all because I had an extra set of the aftermarket ones as I'd bought two sets for two cars before I knew these suck (most felt fine to use again tho, TBH), but yea will buy the Porsche ones from now on.

I know they need to be pushed in firmly, these were.. but you can see in my picture that, that particular clip has backed out a bit towards the glass. IF THE LITTLE CHEAP PEG HAS NOT BROKEN, I can probably push it back in and 'brace' it in place w/ more butyl. Fingers crossed that it works - cause slipping one in is out of the question, the whole glass has to come out.

Replaced my windshield about 3 years ago and replaced 2-3 broken clips with aftermarket clips. Haven't had trim pop off yet and agree, it's a bit tricky to get the trim to clip into the clips.

Lets see you were going 90 MPH in 3rd gear thru a toll road . Oh its the new speed restrictor lasers the state has set up to do any car going that fast . They dismantle your car piece by piece starting with the windshield . That not slow you down they throw out the spike chains.
