How do these work on our cars? Will it bolt up to a D-Jet 914 manifold?
If so, is the opening in the plenum large enough to take advantage of it? |

I’ve run the Westy throttle body on my 2056 L-Jet for about 5 years.
It was a bolt on; IIRC the TPS had to be modified, can’t remember the issue but it orientation may have been different. |

I think they only fit L jet systems. The website is void of needed useful fitment information. Hmm. Well, I've often considered switching my Microsquirt conversion to an L-Jet induction...it would be an easy conversion...will it fit on 2L heads? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

A while back I had read a lot of useful information on Shoptalkforums on this. If I recall, the 2 liter heads need the 2 liter runners. Then you use the L-Jet plennun with longer flexible interconnecting tubes. Now for the L-Jet plennun, these is also a debate about its volume and this is where bus plenum can potentially be used if I recall. Again I was actively reading about this a few years back. This guy having build a type 3 wagon (Squarch) had a 2.3 type four engine mated to a 901 and the car was equipped wit a 911 rear suspension if I recall. He had tried a bunch of things with L-Jet, 2 liter based engine (heads), megasquirt, others... Cool stuff! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

The GoWesty Buslabs TB is a huge improvement over stock IF you are running your own EFI and not running Djet.
You need to change out the throttle sensor from the 2 position sensor the Vanagons used. You need to modify the arm using the arm off your existing TB. And you need top open up the plenum. I used an exhaust pipe expander and then used a small chasing hammer to tap it back into shape. From there I used a thin smear of RTV instead of trying to find a gasket to fit. On my 2056 using MSII, I was able to open up a whole new row of fueling bins on the top end of my fuel map. Going from 45mm to 52mm is significant, and it may not work with Ljet or Djet. With programmable EFI its not a problem. Zach |

I modified a Vanagon 50mm throttle body with an Ljet throttle shaft. I enlarged the intake side of the Ljet plenum to 50mm with a tail pipe expander.

Just ordered one for my 2056 build. I may come back looking for more info when the motor is done. Now I'm off to find a suitable 1.8 core/donor motor.
