76 2.0 fi stock, 130,000 miles
Lost compression on 1 cylinder. Engine out, heads off, valve seat dropped. Shop said amazing engine hadn’t seized up. Look at pic of valve seat, they had never seen the melted look on the left side of the valve port. Any thoughts on that? Pistons had valve marks, cam was done, crank was 3 thousands out out round, bearings shot. We’re going to replace everthing other than the block (still good). New cylinders and heads, pistons, crankshaft, cam, bearings, clean the injectors, polish all the tin and anything else it might need. Engine should be like new when finished! |
