Ok I pulled my early combo gauge (dated '69) because only half of the indicator light was illuminating. I see 1 wire (red/white) that is not connected and I have an open bulb slot. Do I just need a single spade bulb sleeve to install and hook that loose wire to it?

RED/WHITE is a 12v power lead.

So are you saying it is not for a 2nd bulb? By the way thx again for the screens for heat control unit already installed.

Out of topic, but this indicator light is split? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
It means it could be used for two different warnings if one would want, one on the left one on the right? Could they be of different colors?

Back to regular programming, sorry for hijack.

One side for parking brake and the other for MC fault switch?

If you don't find where the red/white QC connector goes, at least tape it up or heat shrink something on that exposed connector. Lots of metal to ground out behind the gauges.

In my 73, the light extends all the way across. Maybe the PO did some mods??

It's a red lens all the way across so I'm guessing I need another bulb, Yes?

Yes will re-tape the spade if I don't figure this out. It was taped when I removed it.

Ok put in a single spade bulb socket and connected the red/white wire so right side lights up as red but stays on even if hand brake is not engaged. Anyone else have an early gauge like this and can explain. Thx!

Can’t use a single spade light

The +12v red/white then grounds to the gauge case through the bulb and is on 100% of the time.

You need a dual spade lamp just like what is already there on the other side - and of course you’d need to find a ground wire from either the park brake switch or the master cylinder switch to control it.

As Montreal states . . . Has some neat potential to be used as an indicator for what ever you might want.

May have tried this already but couldn't you just move the working bulb to the socket not hooked up and see if the other side of the display lights up .
