I have a 74 2.0 914 and am trying to install the shift rod. Put all new bushing in place but I cannot find anywhere where it lists the bushing where the rod terminates in the side plate just before it attaches to the rod out of the transmission. I think the part # is 914 424 2403 but when i just do a search for this part I get nothing, it doesn't show on any schematics, yet once on different part websites it does show but never really explains where it goes. They all say the firewall bushing and car only needs 1. Please help.

Figured it out I think. 914 424 224 02 is the part. Not sure why it doesn't show on any schematics.

At the gearbox end, you can use the aftermarket bronze bushings to replace the plastic one.

Available at 914Werke: https://914werke.com/shop/ols/products/side...-bronze-bushing

Otherwise you can improve the shifting by installing the Chris Foley system with double support at the console.
