I like the title but been about 5 years since I did any of these and most don’t realize the current offerings are all but the same unit with a different name and I am not involved anymore not by choice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Carl wants the same set up I have - Ben’s sport 2 in 2 out. If there’s a spare out there it would be going to a good home.

Doesn’t that “other company “ sell those as well?

I THINK I know who you're talking about, and I don't even see a 2.0 muffler offering on their site??? I know there's a company out of Taiwan that makes "similar" mufflers but not the same(their mufflers look very similar to yours, but apparently there's no conflict????).

I don't know all the in's & out's of your situation, but your old mufflers do look great. Given all the 914 mufflers out there, present & past, I don't see how it could be proprietary??? Is it the baffling in the inside or the shape? It seems like you could modify the design by 3/8'ths of an inch here or there and/or change the baffling/flow/materials on the inside a bit, and it would be very hard to litigate a case against you insinuating that are reproducing someone else's muffler. I DO realize that from your perspective, they are already reproducing your muffler....I assume.

I guess my point is that if you could circumnavigate the supposed "design patent infringement" by modifying the design, I'm sure just based on your welding abiliities & reputation, you'd easily be able to position yourself back on top of the market. If the people are asking for more, it seems like there is still a void to fill. Just my 2 cents. I know...really not my business.

It’s a long story and Ben is too much of a gentleman to trash the people involved. I’m 99% sure he’s moved on and has no future plans to build them again.

Never again will I make exhaust products or be involved with them. I just do a few heat exchangers and that’s it but those are 993 conversion.
