I need an ECU for a 73 2.0. I believe this is number 0 280 000 037. Thanks Hi Thomas, I have many ECU's to choose from, unfortunately most do not have the factory part numbers. Not sure if the 1.7 and the 2.0 ECU's are interchangeable. I have a few auxiliary air regulators I can test. I definitely have the 2.0 intake runners and most other 2.0 D-Jet parts you may need. Great YouTube video's. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() |

Thomas, I have a known good 037 ECU, with original Bosch part number label, all functions verified on my tester equipment and running car, freshly painted and ready to go. Will PM you with details.

It looks the same metal as the factory horns, which I've had great success in restoring with a wire wheel on a Dremel. ![]() |

You know Fred thats an interesting approach and you have had an excellent result. I know I tried wire wheeling at one time and it removes the galv plating. I think I recall seeing some of the Bosch rebuilds and they are painted. Probably depends on the quality of finish you are starting with.

Jeff, Here you go. Spent a little time on the back of my ECU. I dremel'd the tight space but mainly used 0000 steel wool and comet here. Cleaned it off and then used NeverDull metal polish that I had lying around. It's not too bad, I don't think. Here's the Before / After pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() However, after doing all this, painting it might be the better way to go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I have one I took out of a running car about 10 years ago. It has sat in a bin since then. It has the oem part number sticker on it. Make me an offer, I’ll send it to you, if it works you can PayPal me after the fact. If not….. I tried. Lol I’m ok with the honor system on something that will likely sit in that same bin until my kids throw it away upon my death (hopefully many years from now lol).

I try to keep an eye out for backup fuel injection parts since it's a year that doesn't have many interchangeable FI parts with other years. I already have a backup ECU on the shelf. But I saw a few on eBay recently (wouldn't hurt to make them an offer of what you think is fair - you have nothing to lose): Remanufactured for $1,095 here New old stock for $950 OBO here There are also several used listing by sellers who offer returns if the part doesn't work. |
